Talking ENC2135

With Evan Siegel

Final Reflection

A word document form of the final reflections found here below!

For my first project, I had a very tough time deciding what my community would be. I know I am passionate about a few things such as sports, the gym, and eating, but I had no idea if I even wanted any of those to be a community I would write a lot about and expound upon. However, upon further evaluation, I quickly realized that I wanted to write about the fantasy football community. It is the place that I feel heard unlike any other out there and to be honest, nothing really comes that close. I have a love the sport of football unlike any other, so writing about my experiences was not one of the most difficult things I have written about. Not to say this was easy, but as the saying goes something like, if you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work. I love real and fantasy football that this paper did not seem like a burden at all. I actually genuinely liked being able to write about something I am passionate about for the first time and I think it turned out well. This leads into the second project which I also think was something I got the chance to do in which I was passionate about as well.

For the second project, I talked about a community I wanted to be more of a part of than I already am and for that I chose my major: marketing, and the marketing community. My life perfectly aligned with this because before I even knew this paper was going to be a thing, I have always wanted to learn new marketing concepts that can grow some of the family businesses. Not only did I complete this project, I got to put many of my thoughts into writing and research even more. These will all hopefully be in action one day when I graduate. I fully intend to keep this paper unlike many previous courses when I complete them. I want to use the information I spent my time researching to full my dreams of being a successful entrepreneur one day. The things I researched included how to keep building an already successful brand and what to do when you think you are “successful.” In my life no matter how hard I work I will always want more and to do this, I must know “what’s next?” and how to keep going and not just give up when I have made my first million. Alike the first project, this did not feel like a burden because I wanted to do this. I wanted to find more about the possibilities that can basically make me money in life. Marketing is what I want to do and this paper was expressing how I will basically do it. in other words, I went through my life plan with you. I plan on first implementing many new things I have learned in college so far in my mother’s restaurant, and lastly, my end goal is to someday open my own and turn it into a successful chain.

For my third project, I felt like, was the most fun by far. For this project, I had to chance to be as creative as I wanted, so I did. For the pitch that we had to make, I didn’t want mine to be like everyone else’s and blend in. Although other people’s content was most likely better, no offense to the class, but I don’t think they are as memorable as mine. If we were actually in an elevator I could definitely not preform the pitch in which I recorded but it was worth it. My pitch video took place at the gym and I had a different setting for all three of my project 3 genres. For each genre I had a different hat, which I actually tried to link to the theme of the genre. The pamphlet hat said “#1 Grandpa” which was definitely pertinent because who even uses pamphlets today. That is something your grandfather would use. I was also curling the entire time similar to one of my favorite YouTubers, “BroScience.” For the presentation I also didn’t want to be the same as everyone else, so I tried to make that more interesting too. I also made a video for this part as well. For the pamphlet I made a joke out of handing it to some people and pretending to go through it, and for the PowerPoint, I held a fake class with roommates and attempted to teach them through it.
